Patchwork and quilting for beginners - Fridays 2nd, 9th and 16th November 6.30pm - 9pm

Start your journey as a quilter by mastering the basics on this beginners course as well as demystifying some of the terminology and language surrounding the quilting world. By the end of the course you'll be able to design and create your own quilt

Workshop 1 - Cutting and Piecing. Learn how to use a rotary cutter and how to cut and piece square and triangles with perfectly matched corners.

Workshop 2 - Foundation Piecing. An opportunity to learn another quilting technique - sewing pieces onto another piece of fabric. During this workshop, you'll choose fabric to create a simple log cabin. 

Workshop 3 - Backing, quilting and binding. Learn how to back and baste a quilt, experiment with the 'walking foot' to quilt it and learn the basic techniques for adding a neat binding i.e./ an edging to your quilt.
