Come and learn how to create the classic New York Beauty block made modern by mixing circles and ovals with Jenny from Papper, Sax, Sten.
In this class you'll be using Jenny's Drunkard's Path templates and FPP (foundation paper piecing) pattern. You'll learn how to cut, sew and press perfect curves using Jenny's no-pin technique. You will also learn how to use the FPP technique. Make a start on Jenny's Oval NYB Quilt or design your own with the help of your tutor.
Jenny's work has recently appeared in the V&A's 'Maker's Guide to Modern Quilting' and she will shortly be lecturing at the V&A about her innovative techniques.
This workshop includes equipment and a tasty lunch but you will either need to bring fabric or purchase from Sew in the City's range of contemporary quilting cottons. Six fat quarters will make you either a cot quilt or a cushion cover and this project is also suitable for larger scraps.
This is a fabulous opportunity to enhance existing skills but is not suitable for complete beginners.
