Join bestselling author of “The Beginner’s Guide to Dressmaking” and “A Beginner’s Guide to Making Skirts” Wendy Ward and make your perfect summer dress from her latest book “A Beginner’s Guide to Sewing with Knitted Fabrics”.
This class is best for those who have done a bit of sewing and ideally have made at least one garment and know how to use a sewing machine. If you’ve never sewn with knitted fabrics before this class is for you, we’ll be using a regular sewing machine and Wendy will guide you through setting up the machine to sew stretch fabrics – it’s a lot easier than you think.
The Winnats tank dress will quickly make itself an indispensible part of your wardrobe - choose between a knee length tank dress or a floor skimming maxi dress. The fit is snug over the bust, less fitted at the waist and hips and then drops in a slight A-line shape giving you room at the hem to walk comfortably. You can make it all in one fabric or add a contrasting panel for a pop of colour.
Workshop includes a signed copy of Wendy's 'Beginner's Guide to Sewing with Knitted Fabrics' and a tasty lunch.
Details of recommended fabric requirements will be sent to you upon booking.
